If a ping passes, the program saves its round-trip time.

The software continuously sends ICMP echo requests to every host and analyzes its echo replies. A special high-performance engine allows monitoring 8,000+ hosts with 0.01 ms latency precision. The program can monitor many hosts simultaneously, and it interacts with every host independently. The program uses ping monitoring to interact with network hosts and detect their state and network performance. The collected monitoring information is aggregated and represented on charts, so you can easily estimate the hosts performance during any historical period and track its metrics. The program includes built-in tools for data analysis and reporting. You can also configure a script or an executable to be used for custom notifications.

The program supports e-mail, Windows Tray and sound notifications. When the program detects changes in the host state or the connection quality, it can notify you of such changes. The program stores information about every ping and allows you to get detailed statistics for any host during any historical period, such as the list of outages, uptime percent, average latency, latency deviation, etc.ĮMCO Ping Monitor allows you to easily find hosts with different state and quality characteristics and navigate to them for detailed information. It uses ICMP pings to detect up/down statuses of the monitored hosts and estimates their real-time connection quality based on packet loss, latency and jitter metrics. Just make sure you've got an IP address to start your analysis from. The program is designed to automatically ping network hosts and detect their outages and connection quality problems. PingTool might look like one of those simple IP-address response time programs, while it is in fact a more evolved rendition of the concept, with included extra features that might become useful in plenty of scenarios. In addition, the ability to execute commands such as traceroute or ping through CMD is totally supported. You can remove the ping monitor if its purpose is no longer clear. The program allows the user, once an IP address has been selected, to use Wake-On-LAN commands for opening a certain machine from a distance, or to execute RDP, HTTP, and Putty on selected objects. The application will proceed to identify any available addresses in that certain range, coloring with green IP strings that have responded to the program's request. Go ahead and select a range of IPs if you don't recall exactly what you're looking for. The first thing you'll want to do is check one or more IP addresses for their response time.

Buttons could have used a bit more labeling, although it is pretty clear what they do. On the contrary, it seems that while it does not include any bells and whistles in its structure, all options are intuitively and neatly placed in various drop-down menus. While this is a simple tool in terms of what it has to offer, its looks haven't been neglected.

Don't waste your time with other programs, if simplicity and efficiency are what you're looking for when checking IP addresses.

In addition, the developer has included some extra features that derive from its main ping-related purpose. It's an application dedicated to analyzing ping values, checking response times for selected IP addresses, and checking their availability. PingTool pretty much spells its purpose from the start.
